So, I unfortunately wasn't able to make the outing to Old Town~On a good note, I was browsing through my past photos & came across a folder labeled "Interesting"! Lots of random photos which a few of them fell under our Leading Lines theme-I am hoping it's okay to bring this print along in place of the actual event photos. Looking forward to seeing everyone again!
Oh & Ginny I will bring my Photoshop books to the critique so you can check them out. Great visually based learning aids! Of course if anyone else in interested in cruising them, you are certainly welcome....
Has a date been set for the next critique yet?

Taking the train was a winning idea. Service at Fred's gave us lots of time to chat and laugh. Then Teresa was the challenge...leading lines. Eager to see what everyone else found.

I will pick cindra up at the roadhouse in temecula at 10am and terry at calumet in esco at 10:30 and then off to oceanside. if you guys have any questions please post them or call me,[masked]-3267. looking forward to seeing you all saturday.

Sorry Tim, I said Breeze and that is the bus. Steve and I are going to take the Sprinter, the new train line from Escondido to Oceanside. It leaves from the Escondido Transit Center at 796 W Valley Parkway in Escondido. The all-day pass is $12.00 and includes the Coaster and the Trolleys. Parking is free and on the map it looks like there are plenty of spaces. Downside is that it makes about 15 stops so the trip takes about 55 minutes

Ok the coaster doesn't get in till 12.10 so we will get to Fred's as soon as poss after that. Is that affecting everyone?

    September 19, 2013

That sounds good to me Lynn, where does it pick up in Escondido?

Not to add confusion, but I see that a Day Pass is $12.00 and includes the Breeze, Coaster and Trolley. We are talking about getting the Breeze from Excondido to Oeanside. Looks like that train is very accessible from the 15 and goes right to the stop for the Coaster. It runs every 30 minutes all day.

Hello all, after getting confusing prices for the train on the coaster website, I called and confirmed the roundtrip cost for a ticket is $11.00, I'm in. And yes Stella, I will definitely carpool from roadhouse, I can take 3 people total.

So is anyone up for car-pooling to the Oceanside Train station...and meeting at the Roadhouse Steak place in Temecula to start?

    September 3, 2013

Hi everyone, I just checked pricing on the pacific surf line from Oceanside to old town sd is $18.00, one way. Does anyone know a cheaper way? For $36.00 I think I'd rather drive.

    August 28, 2013

    • David D.

Thanks, Ginny. From what I can tell on the site is that the RegionPlus Day Pass at $12 will even get you from Escondido to Oceanside and then Old Town. The pass covers transit on Sprinter, Coaster, Breeze (bus), and all Trolley lines.

Where are you getting the high fares from? The coaster train is $12 return according to their website. That's what we'll do.

    August 30, 2013

  • Terry R.

The train would be fine but this is too much

    August 30, 2013

  • Cindra

While the train would be fun, for the round-trip cost, we could both eat and chip in for gas, probably for cheaper.

    August 30, 2013

  • Tim

Does anyone have any opinions about paying the train fees?

    August 30, 2013

    • Norm H.

Hi Tim, While, $36 is a lot of money to get to a meetup, if you total up the cost of gas to Old Town and back, along with wear and tear on your car, hassle of trying to find parking on a week end it may be worth it. This is assuming that you are dropped off right at Old Town. Personally I think it would be fun if all of took the train, but judging from the comments. it may be a very small few of use who actually do it. Maybe a better way to do this is if someone has large SUV etc. and we car pool there, We can all chip in for gas and parking (if needed) and we can have the comradery that you would have on the train. Either way, I'm good with the decision, It would be fun either way.
