  • This location is shown only to members

This hike is rated INTERMEDIATE.

Join us for a terrific canyoneering hike along Cibecue Creek to an 80-foot waterfall! Along the way you'll be enchanted with gorgeous scenery and the cool flowing water. You will be hiking in and out of water from the beginning of this hike to the end. Expect to get wet while you're hiking up to at least your knees or more! Bring spare clothes to change after the event, along with lunch, snacks, swimming gear, poles, sturdy water shoes, sun gear, and of course drinking water (at least 2+ liters).

A tribal permit is needed to hike here! You can buy your permit online at: http://wmat.toffsystems.com. You will need to create a username/password. Click on Special Use Permit, Black River/Salt River, $15.00. Put the first day as June 1st and the 2nd day as June 1st as well, and it will only charge you $15.00. Please take care of permit before the day of hike, so there is no extra waiting! I.e. don't plan to pick up your permit the day of the event somewhere.

Hi folks - if you are scheduled to go on the Cibecue meetup, and haven't already purchased your tribal pass online, please do so now via the link in the event description. I just got mine, it's pretty easy.

Hi Nichole! Mostly to shuttle people from the campground across the river. The campground is about 1 mile away from the river crossing.

    Hi All,

Our Cibecue trip for this weekend is full and I'm excited by the interest and enthusiasm for this event! Parking for this event is limited and we have to carefully manage the carpool. Only up to three regular cars can park outside before the main lot. The main parking lot for Cibecue requires traversing a road that crosses a small ankle to calf-high water stream. Depending on the water level we may need to recruit some drivers with high-clearance vehicles, SUVs, or trucks. If you have such a vehicle and would commit to driving members from the carpool, or ferrying members for the last four miles, I would greatly appreciate it. I would also accept members on the waiting list on this trip who would specifically make this vehicle contribution. Please email me and let me know.

    Thanks,
    Amanda:)

I was wondering since their are so many people on the waiting list if we can schedule this hiking trip again.. 6/15, 6/29, 7/13, 7/27. Those are the dates that work for me :-) Thanks

    May 16, 2013

    • Amanda

I would suggest changing your rsvp back to yes and join the waiting list. You never know. :-) Also I will be leading again so keep a look-out!
