Please join the Phoenix Philanthropists for a rewarding evening preparing and serving a fulfilling and nutritious meal for our homeless and underprivileged neighbors at André House. Six evenings a week, every week of the year, dedicated volunteers come together at this wonderful House of Hospitality, working in spectacular collaboration, to ensure[masked] of those most in need receive a warm welcome and a delicious dinner. Be part of an exciting and exhilarating night of phenomenal teamwork, and make a difference with the Phoenix Philanthropists and other community volunteers at André House.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION (Please read entire posting)-
Phoenix Philanthropists are committed to helping in any capacity needed and to staying until all work is completed. Before RSVPing to this event, please ensure you are willing to accept any assignment, and to stay to help the very last person working. Together, we make the difference!
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Preparing and cooking food
Serving food or drinks
Working outside, hosing kitchen equipment & utensils
Wiping tables and chairs
Sweeping and mopping floors
Helping the last person working, until everything is done
It is important we provide André House with the exact number of volunteers to which we have agreed, to ensure all guests are served, and each receives the entire nutritious meal, as planned.
We ask that you please:
Do not RSVP to this event unless you are certain you can attend, and that cancellations are made only in rare instances of distress or emergency, and are done as soon as possible to allow another volunteer time to take your spot and arrange to be there.
Do not bring any additional guests for whom you have not RSVP'd. In fairness to waiting Phoenix Philanthropists and other community volunteers, and to avoid any detriment to organization and teamwork too large a group may cause--with potential effects on the service to André House's clients--unconfirmed volunteers will be turned away by André House.
Phoenix Philanthropists Attendance Policy: We understand that plans change and emergencies come up. If you RSVP YES but can no longer attend, PLEASE change your RSVP ASAP. Our charity partners rely on us to attend when we say we will and our attendance policy is intended to ensure we can meet our charity partners' expectations. No Call/No Shows will be recorded, and after 3 No Call No Shows/month or 6 No Call No Shows/year, you will be removed from the Phoenix Philanthropists Meetup. Please understand this policy is not intended to penalize our philanthropists, but to ensure we maintain good relationships with our charity partners and can give the most back to our community.
Please wear comfortable, modest clothing (no bare midriffs/shoulders, tank tops, spaghetti straps, or short shorts) and closed-toed shoes that you don't mind getting wet or splashed with food.
Children 14 and up may volunteer in the accompaniment of a parent or guardian. Please ensure an online Phoenix Philanthropists Release Form is completed for each child.
If you have not already, please complete the new online Phoenix Philanthropists Release Form (http://thephoenixphilanthropists.org/release-form/). A form should also be completed by any adult guests of members; and for each participating child under 18, by their parent or legal guardian.
This online form only needs to completed one time, not before each Phoenix Philanthropists event; but, if you are uncertain whether you have completed the new online form, please submit one now.
Please watch for pedestrians, and park in the back lot (located on the east side of André House), off Jackson.
IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION NOTE: There is construction around the André House in 2014. If attending, please check comments for construction updates before driving to the event.
Enter through the double doors on the east side, then through the first (kitchen) doors to your right. Sign in under Phoenix Philanthropists, and ask for Sam.
