It's Cardinals Kids Camp time again! We have the opportunity to work with the Arizona Cardinals in assisting them with their Kids Football Camps. This camp is sponsored by the Gatorade and the Cardinals and students participate in educational and non-contact recreational activities including learning passing and catching at a five-station interactive area.
Volunteers are needed for helping with the stations during the camp. This is all about the kids! This is not about getting autographs and free Cardinal gear. Coach Mo is very passionate and very focused on helping kids and he wants the volunteers to be good with kids. We need to demonstrate to the Cardinals that our volunteers are professional, on time and reliable. Do not ask for any shirts, hats, etc. even if you see some being given to kids. (Most likely, you will get a cap to wear to represent the Cardinals). If autographs or something are offered to you, do NOT take advantage of it. No extras for someone who couldn't be there, a son, father, etc. and do not hold up the player if they have to be somewhere else, which was an issue with one of our groups that volunteered. No cameras or photos. Please, no late cancellations!
You need to be ready for physical activity and be able/willing to toss and catch footballs and demonstrate the station activities. You will be demonstrating relay and obstacle courses to the kids
Today's location will be at the Riverside Traditional School in Phoenix. The actual camp will run from 4pm-6:00pm. Please be there by 3:30pm. You can get there earlier if you want to help setup. If you can't get directly to the field from the street (look for the Cardinals Truck), check in at the office and let them know you are there to help with the Cardinals Camp.
Dress comfortably for being outside and being physically active. Shorts/athletic wear is fine. Coach Mo has requested loose-fitting clothes. No tight-fitting tops or bottoms. Gatorade will be provided. Bring your own snacks and water if Gatorade doesn't work for you. You may be asked to throw a football and/or demonstrate the stations for the kids, but it is not overly physical so please don't be too concerned about it.
This is a great weekday project for us to work with and we will be working with the Cardinals moving into the future. Men and women are welcome. Minimum age is 18.
