It is a pleasure to report there is a lot of enthusiasm for our continuing SUNDAY Drop-In Tennis session at PTC! So, we are continuing our regular Drop-In Tennis sessions EVERY Sunday evening, from 6 pm to 8 pm..
Check-in time for registration and some 'warming up' is 6:00 pm! Please come to court 4 to check in. We usually use courts 1 - 7, and can get more when needed. The 'official playing time' each Sunday will be from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
The cost will be the same as before: $6.00 per player, which covers courts, lights, balls, and snacks.
Please spread the word, and encourage your friends to join us. We've been having 6 - 8 courts of doubles almost every week, and we can accommodate more if needed. One week we used 9 courts!
NOTE: while reservations are nice and appreciated, they are not *required*, unless you want to set up some special court arrangements. Sometimes particular players wish to play together (singles or doubles), or players on particular teams wish to practice. We can handle whatever, if we know what you want to do. Please write "charliesimmons333 at gmail.com" (without the quotes, of course and with @ instead of 'at') and share your ideas and wishes.
Just so everyone is up-to-date, the Highlights and the Procedures sheets are available in the PTC pro-shop on the 'flyers counter'. You can also access the Phoenix Tennis Center web site at http://phoenixtenniscenter.net/ and then use the "Groups" link. You'll find both pictures and video clips from past Drop-In sessions, as well as the Highlights and the Procedures info. If you haven't looked them over recently, doing so would be helpful.
Basically, we play doubles with the fairly standard "drop-in format" of changing partners and opponents often, usually after 4-game mini-sets, where each player serves once, with winners moving east and losers going west. This tends to keep players of similar levels playing together and against one another and works pretty well. We always have lots of fun, with a a light-hearted, friendly atmosphere. A great way to get in some more good tennis practice, make new friends, and find new 'tennis buddies'.
We look forward to seeing you all on the courts on Sunday evenings...as often as you can! Bring friends! Basically, all levels are welcome. We seem to always have a good time...and as the saying goes, "the more the merrier!"

FYI the cost: Out of the $6, we give PTC $4 per person for 90 minutes of court time. The light cost is $5 per court for 90 minutes, or $1.25 per player. The ball cost is about $2.20 per court, or $.55 per player. That totals $5.80. The difference goes toward the 'munchies' and snacks.
