Needs a location
This is a date for a wander around London for some post festive season snapping. It'll also give an opportunity to burn off a few calories and get rid of the turkey hump that most of us get at this time of year.
The final details are as listed in the thread below.
We will meet at Laindon Station at 2pm and organise into groups of 3 or 4 to use the GroupSave discount for purchasing London Travelcards. There is a train at 2.19pm to Fenchurch Street (arr 2.53pm) passing through Upminster at 2.28pm.
Due to minor enginerring works on the tube, the Jubilee line is closed from Waterloo northwards which will require a few more changes. A short walk to Tower Hill for the District Line to South Kensington and then the Piccadilly Line to Hyde Park Corner.
This will enable access to Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park and is the closest station.
After a while milling around and taking photos, we will regroup at a pre-determined place and time for a reverse journey on Piccadilly and District line to Westminster where we will have a wander across the Thames and along the South Bank for some iconic London night time shots. Obviously, the duration of this walk will be decided by many factors, but it is easy to access various tube stations along the way (Waterloo, London Bridge for Jubilee line to West Ham) so that we can tailor the needs of our aching limbs!
A day travelcard to London is £19.30 from Laindon station although this will be significantly reduced using the GroupSave option. Parking is £2.10 for the entire off peak period.
Some are travelling for Upminster. The price for travelcard is £8.90 and parking is £2.10 although tickets cannot be purchased using the GroupSave option.
The Winter Wonderland is free to enter, but any attractions and rides will cost extra.
