You can't make it to Africa for a photo safari, thats okay. The Endangered Wolf Center is offering a unique photography experience of their African Painted (Wild) Dogs. (I am a long time volunteer)
This is a chance to go behind the scenes as the animal care staff provides a special enrichment to the pack of 5. They will be fed a deer carcass that will encourage natural pack behavior. You will hear their unique vocalizations as they work into a fever pitch.
You will also get to speak to the animal care staff as they share stories and info about the Painted Dogs. Or you can just keep shooting, photographically speaking that is.
There is a cost which goes directly to support the animals at the center. For a behind the scenes experience and only one fence between you and the animals, the cost is $50. Behind the scenes space is limited. To shoot from the normal viewing area through 2 fences is $25. The carcass will be approx 50-60 ft away from the normal viewing area.
To attend you MUST make a prepaid RESERVATION BY CALLING The Endangered Wolf Center at[masked]-5900.
Myself or another wolf center staff member will greet you at the gate and direct you to the event.
