Where: Graffiti @ Waterloo & Southbank
Who: Beginners looking to capture graffiti art
Meeting: Waterloo Station - Platform 1
End point: Eat on Southbank @ 1pm
This "focus on" event concentrates on street photography and in particular capturing graffiti artists at work. There are loads of graffiti areas around Waterloo Station so we won't be stuck for places to practice!
At the graffiti tunnel we will concentrate on our composition and take a look at our camera settings such as white balance and ISO to help us take better photos in tricky lighting conditions.
Moving onto Southbank, there will be chance to get amongst the skateboarding action to capture shots with more movement in them. We'll look at using flash and a technique called panning to add more interest into our shots.
The event will take place whatever the weather – please come prepared for rain and cold. Although most places are sheltered, it will still be cold, so warm clothing and gloves are a most!
An umbrella will be useful for moving between the tunnel and the skateboarding park. The event will finish with a warm drink at Eat giving us a chance to chat and informally review our photos with others.
This event is suitable for SLRs and compact cameras. It costs £10.
