The "Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera" exhibit

One of our wonderful members, Norma Bressi, shared this cool exhibit with me and I'm forwarding it to you!

The "Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera" exhibit will be at the McNay Art Museum through 1 Sept 2013.  (This is an excellent exhibit on his work with photographers to capture his ideas on film and how he turned those images into his paintings and other works.)  Free general museum admission for military personnel and their families through Labor Day, and for everyone 4PM-9PM Thursdays and the first Sunday of every month.  (General admission normally ranges between $10-$15 for adults.)  The free general admission does not include the Rockwell exhibit.  Cost for the exhibit is (approximately) $5 per adult.  The museum is located at 6000 N. New Braunfels Avenue, San Antonio TX. Contact the museum at[masked] or www.mcnayart.org for additional information if needed.

Please note: Photo SA is not charging anything, but the museum will be charging to see the "Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera" exhibit.

Very interesting. I had no idea Rorckwell used the techniques he did. Even using others to photograph some of the people he used in his work.

I always wondered how he could paint so realistically? He used photographers to help him!!! Golly, photographers helping out a painter. Very ingenious!! Photographers to the rescue, maybe?
