Digital Camera Basics ~ I Got This Camera, Now What? Workshop

Yipppppeeeeee!  You got the camera you always wanted, you've read the manual and now you wish you really knew how to get the most out of your new, camera phone,  point and shoot or digital SLR.

This is yet another in our Beginner to Intermediate Photography Workshops.  We will focus on the basics of getting to know your camera and how the basic camera settings relate to taking great photos or not.  When to use Automatic Mode or Program Mode will be covered as will Manual Mode.   I will breakdown each of these mode settings into simple concepts.

Once mastered or at least vaguely understood :-), we can then move to configuring auto-focus and how to properly light your images with your camera's onboard flash.

Let's meet at Straw Valley Cafe near the intersection of[masked] and 40 in the New Hope Commons Shopping area and discuss these topics over a cup of tea.

Workshop Materials: One handout and I will be white boarding all concepts. Please feel free to photograph my whiteboards to take back home with you for further study. I will also send out any website links discussed during the workshop.

6:00 to 6:15: Meet and greet.

6:15 to 7:00: Discuss when to use certain modes when shooting, i.e., A, M, P, S or A

7:00 to 7:15: Discuss autofoucus

7:15 to 7:45: Discuss proper flash techniques and experimenting with your camera's on-board flash.

7:45 to 8:00 PM  Wrap - up.

***Try to bring your camera's manual just in case I can't figure out where a setting is.  I am most familiar with Nikon and Canon DSLR camera's, but I haven't met a point and shoot I didn't like.

I would love to attend, but I do not pay things on-line after my bank account was compromised.
