With thanks to Patric for the suggestion, let's meet to capture some blue hour photography at the Cologne Easter Fun Fair. https://www.koeln.de/koeln/was_ist_los/topevents/kirmes-in-deutz-fruehlingsvolksfest_458001.html
PLEASE NOTE: The Kermis is south of the bridge I've mentioned. We will still meet at the top of the steps on the NORTH side of the bridge and hope to be able to go under the bridge on the Rhine promenade. (The map pointer is slightly wrong as it is a bit too far north.)
This is a twin meetup to the fireworks meetup on 13 April. You are welcome to come to one, or both, of these twin MeetUps, as you prefer. However, if you prefer one or another activity, do amend your RSVP, as we do already have a waitlist for the fireworks.
On 5 April, we will just wander in the Kermis and take some photos during the blue hour. Sundown is at 20.13, so we should have good blue hour photos from shortly before 20.00 until close to 20.45. (For those who haven't heard the term, the blue hour is usually after sundown, when the sky is that lovely shade of indigo blue.) Although the quality of the blue hour depends on the weather, we will meet even if it is damp. (Currently, the forecast is for rain earlier in the day but stopping by evening.)
We will meet and share tips about settings to use with night photography. Bring tripods and remote triggers, if you have them, and think about what ISO and shutter speeds you can best use.
There is a competion which has a deadline of the next day, 6 April, so do submit any photos you think are very good! http://volksfest-koeln.de/fotowettbewerb-gks/
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
