Public Star Party

The San Jose Astronomical Association is trying out a new site! This free, public, come-one-come-all star party will happen at Bear Creek Stables, not far from Houge Park, near Lexington Reservoir. A few of us visited there recently and concluded that this place has potential. The south and west are fairly dark for being so close to town, though the north suffers from the south bay's lights. If you want to set up a scope, arrive on the earlier side, say 7:15pm. Of course, you can just show up with only your eyes!

Official public star party hours are from 8:30 to 10:30PM.
Precise GPS coordinates are[masked], -121.999117.
