Class Description & Agenda:

Welcome to Large Format Printing where you can bring your ideas to life in vibrant color! Large Format Printers (LFPs) are great for improving the workflow of your projects by allowing you to print full size blueprints, sewing patterns, decals, and, of course, posters and banners.

In this class we will cover the proper use and maintenance of the HP DesignJet 5500 printer. This includes:

*Going over the parts of printer
*Locating the manual
*Trimming media
*Loading and unloading media
*Troubleshooting printheads
*How to access for printing

At the end of the class everyone will have the opportunity to print and trim a sample poster to take home.

Cost:

$20 for PPM-Members / $40 for Non-Members

(Class fees are used to cover the cost of materials and the continued maintenance of the LFPs.)

About the Instructor:

Logan Henning --- Logan is a student at Colorado College with a physics degree. He is passionate about anything and everything related to making and would love to get you involved in print making!

(2) Covid-19 notice: Per the recent changes in guidance for COVID safety, we no longer require masks at Pikes Peak Makerspace. However, if you are not fully vaccinated (2 weeks after last dose), or just prefer to be extra cautious, please wear a mask. We have masks available for no charge near the front door.

(3) No Show Policy: If you are unable to make this class, please contact us directly at contact@pikespeakmakerspace.org. If you do not show up and have not communicated to us that you will not be able to attend, the class cost is not refundable. This policy respects the time and effort instructors take to be available for classes and the missed opportunity for other members. We thank you for your understanding.
