New Meetup: OTB Bicycle Cafe

From: Mike
Sent on: Saturday, September 25, 2010 6:23 PM
The Park House will come and go fast, so I'm posting my next contribution to the meetup pool now. For the late October outing, I bring you OTB. We'll be giving them a visit the week of Halloween, and I suspect that means they'll have plenty of pumpkin- and harvest-themed beers on their list. That's just one more reason to come out and have a good time with the group.

What: OTB Bicycle Cafe
When: Tuesday, October 26,[masked]:00 PM

I've taken my other meetup group there before, but it's an even better destination for the beer meetup. They have a big room in the back for us to stretch out and a constant attention to their above-average beer list.

Stop by the meetup page and sign up now if you're looking to join us.

OTB burst onto the South Side scene a few years back with a rather interesting theme: bicycles. Obviously, they were a big hit with the Venture Outdoors crew but they also keep up a good list of craft beer. After all, many of the VO members are secretly beer geeks as well. Fast forward a little, and they served as the starting point for East End Brewing's first ever Reverse Keg Ride. This year, they've also been hosting a regular Firkin Friday even with a fresh firkin from East End.

Details: Urbanspoon / FoodBurgh / City Paper

Beyond just the Bicycle-themed decor, the food has a certain active/outdoorsy flare to it. From a burger with peanut butter (extra protein?) to plenty of vegan and veggie dishes, they keep the menu pretty interesting. OTB is certainly the most veggie-friendly bar I'm aware of--and that's the sort of thing I keep my eye out for.

Looking to head back or give them a try? Why not sign up.
