Something different: a quarterly tasting at Tavern 245.

I just posted a meetup with a slightly different format than our usual events, so I wanted to send out an explanatory message to explain the details.

where: Tavern 245 (downtown)
when: Monday, April 1, 2013 @ 7:00pm

What's the plan? Starting April 1 (no joke), we're kicking off a quarterly meetup at a single location: Tavern 245.

How does it fit in? The intent here isn't to cut back on our more adventurous meetups all around town, but to take advantage of an opportunity to partner with a venue that has served us well in the past. We'll continue to aim for a meetup every other week and squeeze our events at Tavern 245 in on one of our off weeks.

What's in it for us? A couple of think. First, we're going to run a free beer tasting at every event. Brooke and I will pick out a relevant theme and work with Tavern 245 to order a few example kegs. When it comes time for the meetup, I'll talk about each of the selected kegs and pass out samples — provided free of charge by Tavern 245. In addition to the samples, the restaurant will be setting out some appetizer platters to munch on. All you need to do is show up and order a few beers.

Let me know what you think. This is certainly something new for the the group, but Brooke and I both think it's at least worth a try. That said, I am very much interested in your feedback. If you have a particularly strong opinion on the matter, feel free to respond to this message and let me know what you think!
