Announcing a new Meetup for Clever Mojo Play Testers!

What: Play Test Event: Oubliette

When: October 1,[masked]:00 PM

Clever Mojo HQ
[masked]th Place West
Edmonds, WA 98026

This play test event will be dedicated to OUBLIETTE

Oubliette is a family game suitable for players aged 8 and up.

Players are prisoners forgotten in an underground maze, but they've broken out of their cells and need to make their way to the center of the catacombs where a ladder leads to the trap door exit. There's no direct path to the center but the prisoners have the power to move the hallways and reshape the maze as they move through it. The problem is that all the prisoners are reshaping the maze and what helps one will hinder someone else. Only the first one up the ladder will escape. Will it be you?

Oubliette is played on a randomly assembled 7x7 tile grid. Players start in the corners with the goal of working their way to the center of the maze. Cards drawn from a common deck give the players the ability to shift the maze tiles, move themselves, or move their opponents. The game has a high "gottcha" level as players do everything possible to both advance themselves and set the other players back.

Typical play time is less than an hour so the three games we will play at the event should take less than three hours. Its a good game to play with younger players because they get a lot of fun out of zapping mom and dad. If you have a child age 8 or older you are encouraged to bring them with you.

I have posted the prototype images of the game board and the deck of cards as well as the rules in the files section. You may wish to familiarize yourself with this info before attending the play test event.
