  • Please Make Note of Pleasure Palate Attendance Policies and our 3 Strikes Rule by clicking here before RSVP-ing to this Event. Cancelling your RSVP within 24 hours for any reason, or not showing up at the event without contacting the Organizer by cell phone ahead of time will result in a strike. 3 Strikes and You're Out!

Also, if you are on the Wait List, it is your responsibility to monitor your status.  If you are moved into the Attending List and do not show up, you will be given a strike.  If you are on the Wait List and later can no longer attend, it is your responsibility to take yourself off of the Wait List.

This restaurant does not have any large tables, so this event will be limited to 6 for now and may expand to 12 if I can secure a 2nd table.

Taking over the space that was once occupied for years by Bamboo House.  Hopefully. this place will serve food that's so much better than it's predecessor.  No information has been released about this place. which opened at the beginning of October 2016, and offers a somewhat more upscale dining experience, but not quite up to that of Chuan's.  Of couse, when you present your restaurant higher end, the prices of their food is slightly higher than most other Sichuan restaurants in the SGV

From some of the Yelp reviews, one learns that this place is somewhat heavy handed with the dried red chiles and Sichuan peppercorns.  In addition, they seem to be popular for their Ma Po Stinky Tofu Casserole (do we dare?).

    • We will meet in front of the restaurant a few minutes before 6:00 pm.  Please do NOT be late.  They may not seat us until the entire party has arrived.

    • Family-Style Dining: Dining for this event has been designated as Family-Style. The food bill will be split evenly between all attendees. Attendees will be responsible for paying for their own beverages. Please note that flexibility is an important part of family-style dining, and if you want to take a chance on attending, you have to be amenable to what the group/AO will order. You don't have to eat everything that is ordered, but everyone pays equally, whether you eat everything or not. Why this policy? The goal for family-style dining is to allow for the entire group to sample as wide a variety of dishes as possible. If one or more attendees choose to order on their own, that limits the group's choices, which defeats the purpose of what Family-Style Dining is all about. In addition, most of the dishes we order will be moderately to very spicy. If this definition of Family-Style Dining doesn't feel comfortable, this may not be the right type of event for you.

    • Cost per person is anticipated to be about $30.00 to $40.00, depending on how much food we order, any beverages plus tax and gratuity.  Please bring at least $60.00 in CASH to settle your portion of the bill.

    • Parking is available in the motel parking lot.  Street parking is also available.  Be sure to check for any restrictions.

Photos look so appetizing, but it may all be too spicy for my stomach...
