When it's the first day of the new year, I always like to try something new and since YoungSuSan has always been on my to do list, it was time to check it off. If you've never heard of YoungSuSan, it's a Korean restaurant that specializes in serving a "Royal Kaesong" banquet style menu in which individual dishes are brought to one's table. While there are different tasting menus to choose from, I thought we might as well go for broke and do the Royal Court Menu.

The cost per person is $59.99, not including tax and tip, but for 15 courses and for a unique way to try Korean food, this could definitely be a delicious experience. While you can get an idea of what the menu could be by clicking here, it turns out that the menu does change seasonally, so even the dishes you see in the pictures above may be different from what we experience.

Overall, I think this is going to be a tasty meal, so I hope you can join me. To see photos of some of the dishes we may be enjoying and to learn more, check the links below:

I really enjoyed the Korean dining experience at YongSuSan. Thanks for organizing this dining event Abby. My initial exposure on Korean cuisine should have started with this restaurant, the etiquette, the Royal Court dining menu. I now view Korean food so differently now. Seoul, Korea is now on my top 5 list of Foodie travel destinations.

Kevin and I dined on this menu several years ago at this beautiful high end restaurant in their private room arranged by a dear friend....we loved it, you're in for a treat!
