Looks like I spoke too soon.? Hubby forgot to inform me of a family function we?re having this Thursday evening, therefore I unfortunately have to cancel the acoustic jam set here for that same evening.? We?ll plan another one soon.? Thanks to those of you who responded back to me already.? We?ll see ya soon at another event, or a re-scheduled one here in the near future.? I?ll give better notice next time.

?

Thanks and have a great day!??

?

Thanks Bodhi!?

?

I was just wondering if this Thursday evening would work for anyone to come to our place for an acoustic jam?? While the weather is good, we can jam in our covered area out back, and by the fire pit.? There could be two groups?? A total of say 20 would be comfortable if we use both areas.? Let me know who can make it here.? Let?s say 6:30 or 7:00 til 11:00??

?

We live at:? 15911 S Springwater Rd., Oregon City. (it?s where the ?Farm Jam? was in July for those of you who came).? Bring your own drink and a snack to share.? Parking will be out in the pasture off of the front driveway.

?

Hope to see y?all here.

?

Hi all,

?

I haven?t done a newsletter-style update in awhile, so I thought I?d jot a few notes down and let you know what is happening with your group.

?

First off, I wanted to thank our assistant organizers, and unofficial core/regular gang, for all of the hard work they put in behind the scenes keeping things going.? Big Bill, David, Asher, and Rodney (to name a few) keep things moving along on greased grooves, and I want everybody to know just how much they are appreciated.? You guys rock my world.

?

-????????? Our Sunday Night open mics will be continuing for the foreseeable future at the Candle Light Lounge.? They are a nice combination of standard open-mic, jam-band assembly line, and improv class.? I?ve been enjoying the music which everybody has been providing, both the rehearsed stuff and the ?Oh, heck, let?s just see what happens? stuff.? I have *really* enjoyed all of the presentations from our less-experienced members, and I want to encourage anybody who has been a little hesitant about coming out to get on out there!? It is a small, intimate little place with only your friends around you, so there is absolutely nothing to cause you consternation ? come on out and share your music with us!

?

-????????? With the coming of the rains, I?m again attempting to find us a venue for our once-a-month jam sessions.? I have a few ideas to chase down, but as always I am open to helpful suggestions. ?We?d like an all-ages venue so our younger members can come on out and share with us if at all possible.? We had some really nice get-togethers over the summer, but we?ll need a roof over our heads once it gets a little wet (and we?ll need enough room for that *BIG* circle of chairs which we always seem to get!)

?

-????????? We?ve had some great private events coordinated through this group recently, and I?d like to encourage people to keep using the system for their own private sessions.? This group is all about providing you with what you need to get you connected with other players, so if you have an idea for a musical get-together which you?d like to host, e-mail me and let me know how I can help.?

?

-????????? Your cries for video have been heard!? I?ve pre-ordered the new Zoom Q3 video recorder (designed *primarily* as a high-quality live audio recorder, but it also happens to capture simple video).? Basically, the designers figured ?that musician-types want to capture their live performances with quality audio on a simple, easy, one-click doohickie (and they were right!) but sadly it won?t even be released until the beginning of October.? So around mid-October, upon your request (and only ever with your permission) you?ll be able to access a Youtube channel for this group, filled with videos of your performances, jam sessions, and general shenanigans.? Soon you?ll be able to show your co-workers that you?re secretly a music star!

?

Okay, that?s enough for now.? I?ll be making an announcement or two in the next month about some upcoming projects which we can all get involved with, but I?ll save those until I have more concrete data to share.

Shameless Plug portion -- Band Announcement:

Lost Highwaymen at Julia's Cafe' - Sat Sep. 19

?

We just wanted to take a moment to invite all of our friends to come out for an evening of fun and music hosted by our own little house band.

?

The Lost Highwaymen will be playing at Julia?s Caf? (2130 NE Broadway Street) this Saturday from 7:00 until 10:00.? We?ll be doing our own style of acoustic-oriented modern favourites, providing accompaniment for everybody?s Saturday evening caffeine intake.? The caf?? is an all-ages establishment, so feel free to bring our younger friends (and it isn?t even a school night!)

?

And by the way, we finally got our website up and running, just waiting for us to fill it up with groovy content real soon now!? You can check it out at ?

Sign up for our mailing list and show us your support, learn about our upcoming projects, and listen to some of our stuff!
