SUMMARY:Getting Started with AWS
DESCRIPTION:Portland Women in Technology (PDXWIT)\n**🌩️ Getting Start
ed with AWS** **with Danielle Heberling**\n📅 Wednesday\\\, April 16th \
 \| 6:00–8:00 PM\n📍 City of Beaverton Training Center \\| Beaverton\\\
 , Oregon\n\nWhether you've been cloud-curious for a while or you're ready
to finally make sense of AWS\, this is the meetup for you. Join us for a p
ractical\, beginner-friendly evening dedicated to demystifying Amazon Web
Services inlcluding spinning up your first account to understanding the se
rvices that power modern web applications.\nWe'll cover a lot of ground\,
but we'll keep it approachable.\n\nHere's what's on the agenda:\n**🔑 Ge
tting Started** Setting up a new AWS account the right way\, understanding
the console\, and a walk through the billing model and Free Tier — beca
use nobody wants a surprise bill on day one.\n**⚙️ The Services You'll
Actually Use** A tour of the core AWS services every web developer should
  know: API Gateway\, Lambda\, EC2\, S3\, RDS\, and a look at DynamoDB for
when NoSQL makes sense. We'll talk about what each one does\, when to use
it\, and how they fit together.\n**💻 Configuring the AWS CLI** We'll wa
lk through setting up your AWS credentials locally\, including the newer `
aws login` command that makes authentication simpler than ever.\n**🏗️
Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD with Danielle** Our own Danielle will clos
e out the evening with an introduction to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) on
AWS — what it is\, why it matters\, and how to get started. She'll also
do some work with initial automation so you can see how automated deployme
nts come together in a real-world workflow.\n\n***\n\nThis event is open t
o all experience levels. Whether you're seasoned developer stepping into t
he cloud for the first time or someone who just wants to finally understan
d what all those AWS acronyms mean — you belong here.\nBring your laptop
if you want to follow along\, and bring your questions. We love questions
.\n\nLight refreshments will be provided. Space will be limited to 40 atte
ndees\, so RSVP to secure your spot!\nWe can't wait to see you there. 💛

SUMMARY:Is This Me or the System? Reading the Room When the Room Keeps Cha
 nging
DESCRIPTION:Portland Women in Technology (PDXWIT)\n**Event link will be se
nt to attendees the day before the event :**\n\n**You're a high-capacity l
eader. You hold vision\, values\, and tension — often all at once. And l
ately\, something keeps feeling off. The feedback is inconsistent. The goa
lposts move. The room reads differently than it used to. So you do what hi
gh-capacity people do: you turn inward. You wonder if you're missing somet
hing. You recalibrate. You adapt.**\n\n**But what if the problem isn't you
?**\n\n**This talk gives you a practical framework for doing something mos
t leadership development skips entirely: accurately diagnosing whether the
friction you're experiencing is internal or structural. Because that dist
inction changes everything. It changes what you do next\, what you stop do
ing\, and how much energy you stop spending on fixing yourself when the sy
stem is the actual variable.**\n\n**You'll leave with:**\n\n**A framework
for distinguishing personal growth edges from systemic friction**\n**Langu
age for naming what's happening without sounding defensive or difficult**\
n**A clearer read on when to adapt — and when to stop**\n\n**This is not
a talk about resilience. It's not about mindset. It's about reading organ
izational systems accurately and navigating them with clarity and care —
so you can keep leading the way you're actually built to lead.**\n\n**For
: Women in tech at any stage — whether you're leading a team\, navigatin
g a transition\, or still making sense of what just happened at your last
company. If you've ever turned the uncertainty inward and wondered whether
it's you\, this talk is for you.**
