How did you hear about us?

I saw you mentioned on someone's Meetup profile (Alex Zemper's group).

What would you like to see or gain from this group?

Not sure yet. Probably motivation to try some new things beyond my usual range.

What are your artistic goals?

I aspire to do as well with oils as I do with drawing, as I'd like to introduce some form of color to my portraits if I can. This is a long way off!

Which type of artistic endeavors do you enjoy?

Figurative and portrait art. I am not a still-life or landscape person.

Favorite Artist(s) and/or Movements?

I love Richard Schmid (even his landscapes!) and his cronies. I don't know what you'd call this -- contemporary Impressionist art? In drawing I tend towards realist and caricature-like styles. Among classicists, Vermeer, Bouguereau, Caravaggio.

I run a local life drawing group and do charcoal/graphite portraits on commission. I am self-trained. Periodically I try to learn how to use oils. This is one of those periods.
