This isn't quite a Dark Societies event, but one I am chairing and hosting nonetheless with Waterstones Tottenham Court Road.

Helen Marshall is a critically acclaimed author, editor and medievalist, whose short story collections have won major awards in both the UK and Canada. Her debut novel The Migration is the taut and thrilling story of a young woman whose world is upended when her sister is diagnosed with a mysterious illness affecting only the young, which fast becomes an epidemic with terrifying consequences.

M.R. Carey's The Girl With All the Gifts became a global phenomenon, selling more than 1 million copies and adapted into a hit film. His latest novel Someone Like Me is another heart-stopping thriller, a modern take on Dr Jekkyl and Mr Hyde that reads like Stephen King meets Gone Girl.

Both Helen and Mike will be talking about and signing copies of their books, and will be available to answer questions from the audience!

Tickets are just £7, or there are book and ticket options for both Someone Like Me and The Migration at a special discounted price!
