Trigger Warning: LDS Church topics.
Going to try something new for the meetup group. Some have asked that we briefly review the topics of General Conference and talk about them.
Note that as many as 30+ show up to this event, even if they don't RSVP on meetup.
This is a weekly event that occurs every Sunday from 11am-2pm at the Watchtower Cafe in Salt Lake City. The purpose of the group, is to offer a social setting for people who have left the LDS/Mormon faith, people who are questioning it, and people are active in it. We don't have a specific agenda or "teachings", but is more like a social outlet, to meet other like-minded people talk about our experiences, sharing challenges and talking about solutions.
Please do not let you not being Mormon, or a former Mormon, stop you from coming to our activities. Many other religions share the issues we talk about.
That said, we often talk about a wide range of issues as well, discussing politics, science, our interests, hobbies, and ideas for other activities.
We do ask that if you attend, please be respectful of our differences. We are fully supportive of our friends in the LGBTQIA community, as well as our friends are remain active in the LDS church. Pro-LDS stances, homophobia, transphobia or other discriminating attitudes are not conducive or welcomed in our social environment. Bringing these attitudes to the meetup, will result in you being asked to leave.
