Calling all hikers and adventurers, Sierra Club seeking more outing leaders

Please join us for the NC Sierra Club Outing Leader Training (OLT 101) July 27, 2019 Chapel Hill, NC

Are you interested in sharing your favorite hikes, kayaking spots or other outdoor adventures? You can do it as an outings leader with the Sierra Club!

Piedmont Plateau Group will pay for new leaders training. We need you!
Participants need to be at least 18 yrs old and a member of the Sierra Club (new memberships are only $15 and you can join on the day of the training). Outdoor Leadership Training (OLT 101) will be taught from 9am to 12pm. Basic first aid will be taught from 1-5pm by Dr. Wes Wallace. Dr Wallace is an Assoc. Professor of Emergency Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill and a member of the Wilderness Medical Society.

Participants must complete both sections to advance toward full qualification as Sierra Club outings leaders and complete a provisional outing. Current Sierra Club outings leaders can use this training to renew OLT101 and/or First Aid requirements, which must be renewed every four years.

PLEASE NOTE: The fee for the all-day training is $25, $10 for ½ day. Space is limited so register ASAP. Registration deadline is July 24th and you must register for this training online here: PPG will pay for your training, so please let us know if you are interested asap.
