Why don't you translate that Latin for us hoi polloi ??
Since Patrick hasn't answered yet: I think the Latin means "Grant me
chastity and continence, but not yet." Saint Augustine said it in his
early 30s, before he converted (in the early stages of converting?) to
Catholicism. It's in his work Confessions.
