**How to Electrify Your Home and Why You'd Want To**

Everyone needs power to heat, cool, and light their home and because of the climate crisis it makes sense to use electricity instead of fossil fuels for that.
Eric Wilson, an electrification expert at NREL, has done this transformation for his own home and shares the Why and the How to inspire others to take this on. 2024 is the perfect year for such as project as the Federal Inflation Reduction Act offers massive tax incentives of 30% in addition to state and utility rebates. EVs also benefit.

**Home Electrification – How Much Power Do You Really Need?**

In discussions around the full electrification of our homes it is often raised that some, even most homes may require more than 100 or even 200 Amps. This scenario can often be avoided, and the National Electrical Code allows to go past the rated capacity after a month of monitoring actual usage. How that is done with inexpensive energy monitors and which other tricks of the trade is performance construction manager Shawn LeMons, who has long experience with heat pump system designs and installations.

Longtime CRES member Robert Youngberg has traveled to China on many occasions, and is a board member of the Jackson Hole Center for Global Affairs which has been working with China on the coal issue for over 20 years.
