Who we are
Peer-led groups of meditators host Tergar book clubs, discussion sessions, and meditation groups in a variety of locations around the world. Tergar meditation groups feature three main activities: guided meditation, group discussion, and short presentations on the key points of meditation practice. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics and practices, but focuses particular attention on the practice of awareness meditation. Other practices are also addressed, including basic goodness, the essential elements of meditation practice, and loving–kindness and compassion. Tergar groups emphasize direct experience and the integration of meditation with everyday life, presenting techniques that can be practiced by anyone, regardless of faith or cultural background.
