O que fazemos

Hi and welcome to the Barcelona Casual Runners group!

We are a bunch of sociable runners of all levels who enjoy running in good company. Chatting is an integral part of all our runs but we also sweat a lot! :-)

We run around 10K every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday night at 20:00.

However, this doesn't mean you shouldn't come along if you cannot complete 10K or think you run too slowly. We are more than happy for people to come along and run any distance at any pace. People find fellow runners who share a similar pace, and running with others often results in surprising results.

We do have some regular runners that like to run as far as they can with us then drop off and go, and we have runners that sometimes cut the course to make it shorter. There really is NO pressure whatsoever.

We take a group photo after the run and usually go for a drink. Some come only for the drinks :)

So please, if you're not sure, sign up and come along anyway and try us out! We have not missed a single meetup since the group was founded, come hell or high water.

Apart from the usual runs, we occasionally organize long runs on weekends and organize around races.

We have been mentioned in the local press:

Barcelona Casual Runners Weekly Meetup

Localização visível para os membros

Historic change from March 19th onwards: We will meet at a bar/restaurant called "La Querida" on Passeig de Pujades 33. https://goo.gl/maps/EP4wdwxfwZ42 You can leave your stuff there on the upper floor and we will begin running from outside the bar. A description of the route is below for your information. After the run, we take a group photo and drink and/or eat at the bar. A map of the route will be added to the next run, once we run from the bar for the first time on March 19th. We will chat a bit before starting to run. The distance is about 10 kilometers (~6 miles). However, there are plenty of opportunities to turn back before and sometimes people run a shorter distance. Each person runs at her/his own pace. Most of the time people are talking/chatting so it's honestly a casual run. Mini groups tend to form according to pace. Please note people run at their own risk, and please if you have any medical condition make sure you let someone know and be sensible, run within your abilities. And don't forget to check our facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/319006355235925/) for news and activities! On Tuesdays, we at the park from the bar towards the main gate and then take a left within the park. We then take a right to exit the park and immediately take a left to run alongside the round wall of the zoo (Passeig de Cicumvallacio). We then turn right at Carrer de Ramon Trias Fargas and head towards the beach. We then take a left turn and run along the beach heading north-east. Along the coast, we cross the Passeig Maritim de la Mar Bella for a quick stop at the water fountain and then turn back. The main change on the way back is that we turn right at the tram station along the other wall of the zoo (continuation of Carrer de Welliington) and once we reach the end of the wall, we are back to Passeig Pujades where we will reconvene at the bar.

We then turn right at Carrer de Ramon Trias Fargas and head towards the beach. We then take a right turn and run along the Barceloneta beach up to W Hotel. We run up the rump and turn to touch the wall. From there we head back down and run along the inner part of Barceloneta (Passeig Joan de Borbo). Continuing along the history museum, we turn left and follow the coastline along Moll d'Espanya. After crossing the bridge by Mare Magnum, we take a left turn and head towards the Torre Jaume I. We run around this tower and head back along Passeig Colom. The street changes names but we continue straight on, entering the park where we left it, then exit at the main gate and run back to the starting point: the bar.

Sunday Run at Collserola

Parking Carretera de les Aigues

Let's meet at Carretera de las Aigues to run in the middle of the nature when it's not too hot but there's still light. We can run 7, 10, 15 or 18km (the whole Carretera and back) , depending on partecipants. Pace depending on the people who attend. We meet at Parking to start running 15 minutes later more or less. Look for me, I'm the guy with a black Vespa ( an old one ). The meeting point is at the fountain in the Parking. (Please look for it, and don't expect for us/me to be anywhere else) https://www.google.com/maps/dir//41.419477,2.127579/@41.4174999,2.1265813,17z/data=!3m1!4b1, Barcelona, Spain If someone needs a lift I have one place (just one!) just send me a message here below so people will know if the place is already taken, not in PM, thx. NOT in PM!! (Did I said not in PM? :P)

Monday is Montjuic!

Current place: Font magica de Mont Juic, south side (in front of the stairs)

We will meet by the Magic Fountain (Font Magica de Montjuic (https://goo.gl/maps/RWPuTcn8htM2)) - Plaça de Carles Buïgas at the end of the first stairs - just 2 minutes walking from placa Espana towards Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. We'll decide the route on the day.. or just follow Kajman or Stenofa... ;) Normally we do about 8-9kms in an hour during which we climb to the castle at the top of Montjuic. The accumulated elevation is about 300m depending on the route. Note that this is *not* a beginner's run. It can be quite challenging. We recommend that you only join this run if, on a flat course, you can do 10km in 50mins or less or really like running up hill! If not it might be better to first start with one of the beach runs on Tuesday or Thursday. Starting from October it is getting dark pretty early and not all the streets of the route have lights. If you have a headlamp please bring it with you but it is not necessary. Let´s do the entire route together and after the training we can go as usual for a drink at a bar nearby PS: If we are signed in that means we are coming but maybe maximum 10 minutes late :-) ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Quedamos en la Plaça de Carles Buïgas (donde está la Font Magica de Montjuic), exactamente aquí (https://goo.gl/maps/RWPuTcn8htM2), al lado de la barandilla que está al final de las primeras escaleras.
