Sunday Casual to Competitive Ultimate Frisbee at Multiplex!
Hey everyone! Indoor season is starting up! We will be starting December 2nd from 4-6 PM at Multiplex (Owned by The Word Church off of South Miles Road in Warrensville Heights, OH). Please pay $10 per week to be fair. This can be cash or check. If you know you're going to be there a lot, we can do $30 for 4 and we do a monthly payment cycle, however you choose. Some of us put down $30 in order to reserve the field, and since this is not an open field and is a company, money has to be put down. Please message me[masked] if money is an issue. Always happy to work with everyone. Directions: Coming from the west side, if you're near the Edgewater/Lakewood area, since lots of the members seem to be, Take OH-2 E, I-77 S and I-480 E to Warrensville Center Rd in Maple Heights. Take exit 25A-25B-25C from I-480 E. When you get off the exit, turn right on Warrensville Center Rd, then turn left on Aurora Rd/State Rt 43, then turn right on miles road. Then turn right into the complex and drive all the way to the back Coming from the east side. Take Miles Road West. Veer right on Warrensville Center Road South, then merge onto that road. Turn right on Aurora Rd/State Rt 43, then right on South Miles. Then turn right into the complex and drive all the way to the back. Coming from 77 south: Come up 77 North, merge onto 480 East, get off at Miles Road, then turn left on Miles road going west. Turn right on Aurora Rd/State Rt 43, then right on South Miles. Then turn right into the complex and drive all the way to the back. DISCLAIMER: AURORA AND WARRENSVILLE CENTER ROAD IS A DIFFICULT INTERSECTION. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. Make sure to RSVP each week if you are able to attend. If you are unable to make it, try to find someone to sub for you. We play for fun and to get exercise (there is a lot of running involved in Ultimate Frisbee). Make sure you are wearing good running shoes, bring plenty of water along with a dark AND white shirts (we will be splitting into two teams) in case I forget the pinnies. Some of the rules for play: * When guarding the person with the frisbee, keep an arm's length's distance. * 10 second count * Some are beginners, others are not... Let's try to keep it somewhat causal and fun for all. We all pay the same dues * Bring both a red and non-red shirt so that it's easier to know who is on which team. I will bring pinnies, but still do this in case I forget. *NO CLEATS. Tennis Shoes Only! **3-Point Rule: Every 3 points/scores, we switch. You can sub out 3 scores or less. There will be a lot of people and they will be paying money. Please be respectful, you will hear it from me if you aren't coming off. Who we are:
What started out as a weekly frisbee pickup game has since turned into a city-wide collective of pickup games. Some locations have regular "leaders" who will show up to set up the field and organize game-play, while others are more informal meetings which are not associated with meetup events and instead are regulated on their own. However, as the Cleveland ultimate community continues to grow it is our goal to try and bring the game to as many prospective players as possible! Any game which is posted as an event on the meetup page will be run by a member of the meetup group and will be updated regularly. Any additional pickup games posted are run by an outside group of people not yet officially associated with the Meetup group as of this time. Know of another regularly occurring game in the greater Cleveland area? Let me know and I'll be happy to add it to the list!

Never played before?
Ultimate Frisbee (AKA Ultimate) is a sport played with a 175 gram flying disc. The object of the game is to score points by passing the disc to a player of your own team in the opposing end zone. Players may not run with the disc, and may only move one foot (pivot) while holding the disc. The possession of the disc will change teams as soon as one of the following happens: offence drops/misses the disc, offence catches it out-of-bounds, or the pass is intercepted/blocked by the defense.

Don't worry too much about rules and such, It's pretty easy to catch on as long as you know the basics. We're a very friendly and helpful group who love nothing more than to teach the game to beginners, so come check us out some time!
