What we're about

This is a peer support group for gay men looking to better manage anxiety and PTSD symptoms.

You don’t have to be gay to join, and you don’t have to be diagnosed with PTSD. This is a very under-diagnosed condition, and even if you don’t have PTSD, I’ll bet you’ll find our coping techniques helpful for dealing with your anxiety.

I developed PTSD due to childhood abuse and neglect, but thanks to effective treatment, my symptoms are under control and I wouldn’t qualify for a PTSD diagnosis today. I hope that sharing my experience can help you be more like the person you want to be. This is a PEER support group, which means everyone’s honesty and bravery can help everyone be better.

PTSD meetup — St. Pete

Allendale United Methodist Church

Welcome to our support group! There's no pressure here and no judgement. We meet every Saturday. Sometimes we just shoot the breeze, but a lot of the time we learn more about ourselves so we can live better lives. New members: You can just listen, or talk if you want. It's normal to feel anxious at first, and don't be afraid to ask a question online or in person. Oh, and this is a support group, not a singles club 🙂
