May is the Pet Expo Meet Up!! This is a "can't miss" event!!! The expo is from May 10 through 11. We will meet at Thomas Square Park (right across the Blaisdell on King street) first then head over the Neal Blaisdell Center to enjoy the Pet Expo together. We call this the "pug parade" that starts off our expo adventure--we stop traffic and everyone is in awe--it is GREAT! We've been doing it for seven years now and even other expo attendees tell us they wait for the pug parade!!
We will meet at Thomas Square Park at approx. 10 a.m. then head over to the Blaisdell and enter the expo at 10:30 a.m. Cheryl will be at the park by 10 a.m. We generally enter the expo from the Diamond Head side entrance of the exhibition hall. For those who have never attended the expo, there is no entrance fee but a small parking fee. (We waive the meet up membership fee for this event). They also accept donations for the Hawaii FoodBank so bring a canned good as a donation and your entry "fee." There is lots of parking in the Blaisdell Center parking lot. And, there will be lots of vendors, info, and samples!! And, the center is air conditioned so very comfortable for the puggies.
Bring $$ because there are lots of things to purchase and vendors have items on deep discounts!! Travel light so we can enjoy the expo and get lots of samples and buy lots of cool stuff!!! Make sure you have your leashes (retractables are not suggested), doggie ID tags, poop bags, etc. The expo can get crowded so you will want to be sure you have control of your dog at all times--pack accordingly. If you are from a multiple pug family, you may want to bring a friend or two if you plan to bring all your dogs.
Refrain from bringing a dog in heat especially since there will be hundreds of dogs in the center. Dogs attending this function should also be socialized and comfortable around large groups of people and other dogs. Again, there will be many canine friends of all shapes and sizes at this event. See you there!!
