Volunteer Info Session of Doctors w/o Borders and Encompass

If you are thinking about doing volunteer work in the coming year or just wanted to know about volunteer opportunities, please join us on this last Friday evening of the year to learn more about how you can become part of Encompass or Doctors Without Borders’(both medical and non-medical) field work.

The event will be in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere: information material will be available and you can meet and mingle with other like minded members and non-profit organization volunteers over a glass of wine. Representatives will be on hand to discuss volunteering requirements and to answer your questions. Cover charge is $10 and net proceedings will be benefiting The Genesis Project.

The Genesis Project exists to offer hope for a new life to young women and girls involved in Domestic Minor Sex-Trafficking (DMST) in the South King County area.

The Genesis Project opened the Drop-in Center in August 2011, it has laundry facilities, showers and places to sleep, and the girls receive food, shelter, clothing, resources, and referrals to long term shelters and rehabilitation programs as needed.

In order to keep their doors open and continue to help victims of trafficking, and work toward building more comprehensive programs to rehabilitate these victims.

They are in need of :

· Sweatpants/shirts

· Tea/Coffee

· Food – things like frozen dinners, breakfast foods (OJ, waffles, milk butter, jam, etc), popcorn, snacks, etc.

· Laundry Detergent/Dryer Sheets

· Dish soap

· Blankets/comforters
