ACTION ALERT: Close Internet Loophole – Comments Due Monday 7/16

**Please forward**

One of Michigan's largest online breeders
with no licenses or inspections!

We are just days away from the end of the public comment period regarding the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) new proposed regulations which would require large-scale breeding facilities that sell puppies sight-unseen over the Internet, by phone, or by mail to be licensed and regularly inspected for basic humane care standards.

This could affect thousands of dogs and deter mass breeding! We already know the pet industry is actively petitioning and submitting comments against this new rule. So if you have not yet sent your own comment, you need to do so before July 16th.

We urgently need as many caring citizens as possible to speak out in support of the rule.

How to send your comment directly to the USDA:

1. Go to the Federal Rulemaking Portal!documentDetail;D=APHIS[masked]

2. OR by postal mail/commercial delivery to:
Docket No. APHIS[masked]
Regulatory Analysis and Development PPD APHIS,
Station 3A-03.8,
4700 River Road Unit 118,
Riverdale, MD, 20737-1238.

Do you have puppy mill survivor or know someone that had a bad experience purchasing a dog online? Yes? Briefly share how the experience, impacted you, the animal and/or acquaintances and include how this new rule might put an end to scrupulous breeders and protect consumers. If you don’t have any personal experiences to share, simply draft a short letter of support.

Here is a link to the HSUS’s website, who can hand deliver your comments if you can send them before July 13th.

Thank you! This is how change ``slowly`` happens, but it will!
