ALERT: Rescues must be certified to assist in puppy mill bust

Puppy Mill Awareness has a bust lined up in the next few months. All rescues wishing to help out by taking some dogs must be certified through the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance. Please submit your applications for the second round of certification March 1st. In the meantime, review the Best Practices Guidelines and Code of Ethic, discuss with your board members and prepare any waivers so we can start evaluating as soon as possible.

Note, this will be through law enforcement. We do not encourage rescues to contact the breeder ahead of time to take any animals until they are "officially" shut down. If the court proceedings do not go as planned and they are allowed to keep the dogs, you are only making room for more dogs and enabling the breeder.

Thank you
