We are thrilled to announce our sixth meetup. It’s scheduled for Thursday, 14 December, 19:00 in the Blip.PT headquarters on Avenida Camilo, 94.
We start with a talk “Scale like a pro. Distributed computing with message queues and Python“ by Roman Imankulov. The talk will be revolved around the powerful concept of message queues and how to use them in Python for high performance and scaleability. We begin with the toolset of the standard library, learn by example how to build our own quick and dirty message queue, and then we will see how to get the same functionality, and even more out of the box with Redis or RabbitMQ and Celery.
After the talk traditionally we’ll have a lightning talk session. You have five minutes to outline any Python-specific topic. For example, you may have a talk about a little-known tool, a library or an approach which you use often. You can speak Portuguese or English. If you wish, you can use slides or run some code right from the console or IPython notebook.
To have a better understanding of interests of our guests, we kindly ask you to answer (very briefly) which tasks do you solve with Python. As always, the participation is free and everybody is welcomed!
