I’ve been contemplating lately how I can serve, “become the change I want to see in the world.” Understanding what that looks like for me and how that fits with how I identify with myself. I concluded with: 1)Become a little more chilled in life and kinder to myself 2)Provide a space for others to become more chilled in life and kinder to themselves.
So I've decided to do exactly that. These two points form the foundations of this Meet up group. :-)
If you're local to Chelsea, Imperial wharf and Fulham looking for a chance to practice yoga once a week, come along. This group is for beginners and regular practitioners of yin yoga, Hatha Yoga & mediation. I feel that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and practice yoga and meditation. To feel the therapeutic benefits a regular practice can have on the body, mind and spirit. Classes in Chelsea Creek are free, because I want to omit the financial barriers to developing your own practice on your journey to wellness in its many forms. To make yoga a little more accessible, as I really feel it is a highway to living more consciously.
In addition to yoga, this meet up will serve as an opportunity to meet like minded individuals who are already on or stepping into their own journeys of personal development. It'll serve as an opportunity to practice, meditate, share and hold space for one another.
Themed meet ups will aim to include: 1)Yoga & the personal development book club - We learn, read, share and aim to integrate positive inspirational lessons into our lives. 2)Yoga & Dana (donation in Sanskrit) - addressing food poverty in London, by supporting our local food banks like The Trussell Trust. 3)Yoga & a riverside 5k jog- I’ve heard nothing beats a good yoga session after a run. 4)Yoga & emotional emancipation sessions (yoga, mindfulness and Pan-African discourse for women of colour) finding liberation in learning and embracing Pan-African ideology after heart & hip opening yoga sessions 5)Yoga & brunch social - also introduce local market producers & nutritionists to cook up something healthy & vegetarian post yoga. We cut the small talk and dig a little deeper. - Let's feel a little more connected on & off the mat. - Please sign up and express interest in taking part. This meet up is not up and running yet, I aim to start in February 2019 with a 2 months calendar of events, with the intention of running a class once a week, at a time most suitable for the majority of members. The more the merrier and I look forward to meeting you.
