Research on Quantified Self

Hello QS Toronto,

Please excuse the email blast but I'm hoping that this will reach some members of the group who might be interested in participating in a research project that I'm currently involved in. I talked about this research at the meeting in December but unfortunately I wasn't able to attend this month's meeting.

I am a Masters student at the University of Toronto and I'm writing my thesis on the Quantified Self. Basically I'm conducting one-on-one interviews with people involved in QS who do some form of tracking or quantifying in order to learn about your practices: what you do, how you developed it, what the outcomes are. I'm interested in all kinds of practices--it doesn't have to be technically complex or original, I'm more interested in your own motivations for tracking. If this sounds interesting to you and you can volunteer approximately 45 minutes of your time (I can somewhat compensate in the form of coffee/other beverages/snacks) please contact me and I'll provide you with more information. Interviews can be either in-person or online through something like Skype, whatever is convenient.

I have already interviewed some members of the Toronto QS community and I'm planning to share the results of my research with the community in the hope that it might prove beneficial or insightful.

Please contact me with any questions. Thanks!
