Kilpatrick and The Slacks 10.6km: Festive Book Club Season

**EARLY BIRD SIGN-UPS AVAILABLE UNTIL SUNDAY 14 DECEMBER**

🗺️ Key Info:
• Distance: 10.6km (6.6 miles if you’re old school)
• Ascent: ~486m
• Hiking time: 3.5 to 4hrs
• Cost: £3 early bird, then £5 (covers basic admin costs for Rambling Readers)
• Refunds: Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

📍 Meeting and Ending Point:
• Location: Glasgow Central Station by the entrance to Accessorize
• Time: Meet 10am, leave just before 10:10am for the 10:16am train. Arrive at Kilpatrick station at 10:45am.
• Return: We expect to be back at Kilpatrick station by 3pm or so. Officially our trip ends here, and people are free to catch a return train or perhaps grab a drink at the pub if they didn't overindulge enough over the holidays.

📖 The Book:
• Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan
We absolutely loved the author's short story last month, so this time around we're picking her novella for the main event! (There is also an excellent film starring the fierce pro-choice campaigner Cillian Murphy, if you want to cheat.)

📖 The Short Story:
• The Dead by James Joyce
If you're short on time over the holidays, this is the option for you! This is the final short story in James Joyce's 1914 collection Dubliners. P.S. If you fancy a giggle, we also highly recommend reading his letters to his wife Nora during their relationship's long distance era (maybe not in public).
