Thank you!

PLEASE ARRIVE BY 4P TO SET UP IN THE ARBOR CIRCLE

CEREMONY STARTS AT 5P AND LASTS UNTIL ?

Come together as a community in ceremony

and join

Grandfather Bear Who Talks Much

in his bi-annual sacred Shaman's Journey

Held outdoors at Raven House Healing this special ceremony will last several hours.

During this ceremony we create a labyrinth with stones, sit on the ground in the sacred arbor in a circle singing a sacred chant continuously as we drum supporting each person who dances into, then out of the labyrinth then they go over to sit their turn at the ancient grandfather drum before returning to the circle once again

WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK FEAST AFTERWARDS SO PLEASE BRING A DISH TO SHARE

(bring cooler for those dishes needing to stay cool)

~ We are continually asked how long this ceremony lasts? ~

It depends on the amount of people participating in the ceremony. The ceremony ends when each person has had their turn.

The ceremony can be a very life changing event and can leave you feeling naturally altered

That's why we encourage people to arrive really early to set up a camping space so they do not have to drive home afterwards

Participants may camp out before or after the ceremony.

(if wanting to use a camping stove you must have a appropriate current/active fire extinguisher)

DUE TO THE EXTREMELY DRY CONDITIONS SMOKING OF CIGARETTES IS ONLY ALLOWED INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE.

ASHES, EXTINGUISHING AND DISPOSAL IN ASHTRAY IN VEHICLE

We are also holding a Purification Sweat Lodge the day before, Friday Aug 23rd at 4 PM for those that wish to purify beforehand ( See event meetup notice on calendar ).

We will be putting up a prayer tree at 12p (noon) before the sweat lodge and that tree will be decorated with many prayer ties.

If you want to make strings of prayer ties for the tree, please do so

A DONATION BASKET WILL BE SET OUT BY THE FIREWOOD SHED

The donations are used to provide transportation to those who would not be able to make it otherwise, Grandfather's transportation cost and time, the elderly, honored guests, porta pot rental, preparation maintenance costs, lighting etc. Any funds left over if any will be used for future community events/projects in a good way

COME EARLY

GRANDFATHER ASKS THAT YOU ARRIVE BY 4P SO YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO PLACE YOUR THINGS IN THE SACRED ARBOR CIRCLE AND BE READY FOR THE CEREMONY TO BEGIN AT ~5P

IF CAMPING PLEASE ARRIVE MUCH EARLIER TO SET UP YOUR CAMP SPACE

THINGS TO BRING

~ FOUR STONES ~

Grandfather request that you also bring four (4) stones the size of grapefruits.

Please choose these stones with reverence as they will be used in a sacred ceremony. Ask if they are willing to be used for this ceremony and if they reply yes please bring them with you.

We will use these stones to create a spiral labyrinth medicine wheel, spiraling into the center prayer tree where you will each dance into the tree and give away what no longer serves you and you will take back what you want into your life as you spiral out.

PLEASE REMEMBER WHERE YOUR STONES ARE SO YOU CAN TAKE THEM BACK HOME

at the end of the ceremony

Grandfather says you can use these for the start of your own labyrinth

~ A BLANKET ~

Grandfather asks that everyone bring a blanket to sit on during the ceremony to be as close to the Earth Mother as possible.

If you are an elder or have any medical issues a folding (low, if have one) chair or pillow is okay to use.

~ DRUM AND/OR RATTLE ~

Please bring a drum and/or rattle to use during the ceremony. Other like instruments and sacred objects.

~ WATER BOTTLE ~

In this dry summer heat it is important to stay hydrated especially during the ceremony

~ SWEATER, LIGHT JACKET OR EXTRA BLANKET ~

As the sun sets it tends to get cooler so bringing a sweater, light jacket or extra blanket is a good idea

~ FLASHLIGHT OR HEADLAMP~

Luckily it is a few days past the full (blue) moon so we should have moon light but its best to be prepared with a flashlight or head lamp after the ceremony ends

~ MOSQUITO REPELLENT ~

A MUST as we have lots of mosquitos this year so please bring a mosquito repellent and be conscientious when you applying it of others around you who may have sensitive noses or cannot be around the smell. There are natural (essential oil) repellents available at stores

~ DISH TO SHARE FOR POTLUCK FEAST AFTERWARDS ~

Bring a dish of your choice to share at the potluck feast afterwards. Non-alcoholic drinks too (try to refrain from caffeinated drinks or sodas).

Please bring a cooler for those dishes or drinks that need to stay cool.

Also if you have any solar lights or other battery/electric camping lights we can use to light up the area we have the feast at will be greatly appreciated

This is a very powerful ceremony where many spiritual things happen that will make changes in your life.

By donation for costs (porta pot, maintenance preparation costs, lights etc) and Grandfathers time and travel.
