Hi. This is Bill, the Southern California Raw and Living Foods Group Meet Up assistant organizer, and planner for events in West Los Angeles.
This organic, raw, and vegan potluck will take place in the beautiful and tranquil Cheviot Hills home of our member and gracious hostess, Leah Hanes. Gather with friendly, intelligent and upbeat people who share your common interest in and love for raw and living foods.
Whatever your level of raw food expertise, you are encouraged to attend. Here is what is requested of you:
1. Please bring a raw, organic and vegan dish that will serve 10 to 12 people. Either show off your raw cuisine prowess by preparing an interesting mouthwatering dish or salad, a raw organic vegan dessert (homemade or store bought), or buy something to bring from a raw food restaurant or the prepared raw food section of your local organic market. Please bear in mind that anyone can make a green salad at home so if you bring one, please make it distinctive. PLEASE DONT FORGET TO BRING UTENSILS TO SERVE YOUR DISH
2. Provide your own plate/eating platter, eating utensils, cup, and napkin. We want to minimize clean up for our hostess and organizer. (We will have a limited number of paper plates and plastic utensils available in case you forget or so as not to discourage anyone from attending)
3. Furnish a list of the ingredients that are in your dish to be displayed on the serving buffet. Optionally, you can print cards/papers with your recipes on them to share with the rest of the group. People really appreciate this. A minority of our members do not eat nutritional yeast, nama shoyu (Braggs aminos), tree nuts, or wheat-berries for various reasons, so if you use these ingredients, please make extra sure to bring an ingredient list to place by your dish.
4. Please show up between 12.00 and 12.45pm. After a short session of personal introductions during which we describe the dishes we have prepared/purchased, we will start eating promptly at 1.00 pm. You are welcome to show up later but it is strongly recommended to show up on time to insure your maximum enjoyment of the different foods at the potluck. The good dishes can go quick!
There is plenty of free, unrestricted street parking on Gilmerton and Glenbarr Avenues.
This potluck is gonna be great... and all the greater if YOU attend! See you there!!!!!!
