  • Blueberry Picking Forray

    Needs a location

Enjoy the Ctiy of Bellevue's hidden gem, the nature trail at Mercer Slough where an abandoned U-pick blueberry farm awaits us! Even though their website states that the farm is closed, we must take advantage of the SoundTransit Light Rail construction area, where a temporary parking lot is accessible only on the Northbound side of Bellevue way near the I-90 on-ramp. Bring plenty of mosquito repellent, empty containers for your blueberries and go early in the morning to avoid the scorching heat of the day. This blueberry farm is also accessible via canoe or kayak or boat! Visitors to Mercer Slough Nature Park can use the temporary parking lot on Bellevue way just south of the old South Bellevue Park and Ride lot. Other access options are to park at the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center or the Bellefields Trailhead, both located on 118th Ave on the east side of the Nature Park. Access to the berry fields is intended for casual harvest, to be enjoyed and shared with all. Since the parking lot is tiny, please carpool if possible. I changed the event photo in the Facebook group event to show what that temporary parking lot looks like so you know what to look out for. If you see a Blue building amid the construction stuff, the parking lot is south of it. This link contains the map of the temporary parking area: https://www.soundtransit.org/get-to-know-us/news-events/project-updates/temporary-parking-lot-to-open-mercer-slough-park-users

Supplements include Rejuvelac (probiotic drink), Spirulina/Chlorella Capsules, Col-Clear Capsules, Activated Charcoal and Bentonite Clay Capsules. SUPPLEMENTS TAKEN DURING CLEANSE Spirulina/Chlorella capsules provides essential nutritional support and cleansing. Its high chlorophyll content helps remove toxins from the blood and boost the immune system. It is 60% protein and amino acids including the essential fatty acid gamma linoleic acid (GLA). It contains Omega 3, 6 and 9s, and is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals (particularly calcium), and phytonutrients. Spirulina strengthens the immune system, boosts energy levels, and supports cellular, cardiovascular, eye and brain health. Chlorella rejuvenates the blood and cleanses digestive organs such as the liver and bowels. It removes alcohol, heavy metals, certain pesticides, herbicides and polychlorbiphenyls (PCBs) from the tissues. Chlorella causes the lactobacilli bacteria in our stomachs to multiply at four times its normal rate thereby improving digestion, assimilation and immunity. It helps rebuild nerve tissue damage throughout the body, and is excellent for treating degenerative brain and nerve disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Chlorella is high in enzymes, protein, vitamins and minerals. Activated Charcoal and Bentonite Clay acts as a sponge or magnet and absorbs heavy metals and toxins that adhere to the surface of charcoal and clay. This combination is effective for pulling toxic substances from the stomach, intestinal tract, tissues and bloodstream, to be deposited and eliminated in the digestive tract. Clay may also enrich and balance the blood due to its high mineral content. Col-Clear capsules contain aloe vera extract, barberry bark powder, cayenne powder, burdock root powder, dandelion root extract, fennel seed powder, ginger root powder, glucomannan powder, liquorice root extract, and rhubarb powder. Col-Clear capsules dissolve mucoid matter and expel it from the digestive system. They reduce gas in the stomach and intestines, purify the blood and stimulate and strengthen all organs, especially the heart, liver and organs of elimination. Rejuvelac is a fermented grain beverage. The fermentation process creates live microorganisms that promote healthy gut flora that aids in digestion, the removal of toxins, and elimination. When made with sprouted quinoa, it is gluten-free, and has complete protein, and is full of minerals such as manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, folate, copper, potassium and zinc, B vitamins and antioxidants.
