Raw Food Potluck & Demonstrations & Speakers

  • Nov 17, 2012 · 3:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

WOOHOO - time to share rawlicious dishes and meet our tribe of Raw Peeps and explore the Yellow Green Market.

We will also be demonstrating easy peasy RAW RECIPES and hearing from some wonderful speakers.

Prepare your favorite raw, organic, vegan dish to share!

Please bring only organic raw vegan food to share (NO animal flesh or eggs, NO dairy, NO cheese, NO honey, NOthing cooked).

One of our members is allergic to ONIONS - if they can be omitted from your dish, she will be most grateful

Your recipe and your name placed next to your dish is helpful for those with special dietary concerns. It will also be shared on our website after the Meetup with a picture of your creation. Please bring food for 20+ people to taste...

For inspiration about what to bring, go to or send me an email or call or text me at (954)[masked] and we will whip up some inspiration together

For those bringing a RawFood dish -

  • Bring a serving spoon
  • Include a card listing all ingredients

List of supplies we need IN ADDITION to a RAWFOOD DISH:

  • Strong SMALL paper plates - Dixie is a really good brand and their plates don't sag
  • plastic forks (have plenty of plastic spoons)
  • plastic cups (small ones for tasting)
  • paper towels
  • ziploc bags for leftovers
  • extra serving spoons
  • suntea or some beverage to share (water is always great to cleanse the palate)
  • wipes/cleaning products so we can clean up our area once we are done

If you cannot bring a dish and still want to participate, make a cash contribution of $10.00 so we can bring the supplies and food and still share and be happy

Sadly, I have to change my status to NO. This lapsed vegetarian was hoping to get back on the Veggie wagon and also get some great recipes for Thanksgiving. Perhaps another potluck will be scheduled before the December festivities.

    Enjoy and take pictures !!!

Eating healthy is apart of my life. Alternative medicine is also apart of my life. Some of my co-workers and friends find me boring because of the lifestyle I've chosen. I look forward to indulging with persons interested in living a healthy life.

I am so happy you voiced this opinion!!! Sometimes I feel very left out because folks are doing (and enjoying) stuff I can't handle. I went to a dance at a bar the other night but the aroma of rancid old cooking grease turned my stomach and I had to leave. What was I thinking? LOL

Eating raw is alternative medicine - it's a way to heal our bodies through what's been given to us by Mother Nature

I want to join this group. I have been a raw foodist for nearly 2 years. It has been hard on me being here in Florida due to being misled by a former "friend." I have not been raw 100% which is sad because I can feel the difference immediately. Am looking to stay raw, stay connected to the inspired raw community, make friends and grow. Please feel free to email me to connect or add me on facebook! [masked]

Hi, just wanted to invite everyone to my dad's 90th birthday surprise cause I would love to meet everyone and it is a pot luck and would be great to have raw food there and introduce people I love. I hope I am not offending anyone. Irving co-authored Equal Employment Opportunity for the US under Lindon B Johnson and people are coming to entertain and express feelings. It will be held at the Hollywood Beach Community Center, this Sunday October 28th from 3 to 7. It is 1301 S. Ocean Dr. 33019. Please call if you want to come so I can purchase a parking pass for you. Barbara,[masked]-8550. Thanks

    Hi friends,

I opened A new page. I just graduated from Living light Culinary arts Institute as a Raw Vegan chef and Instructor and I am hoping to share my experience and some health tips. Please follow me at The Sun is Happy, liking my page and you will have access to all the info provided. Thank you so much for being part of my journey.

But they do have some nice things. I scored some shea butter last time and now I hear there is an herbalist. There is also a beekeeper selling honey & propolis which I want to check out. sometimes the stuff (like the honey) is local and small. I would not expect her to have an organic certificate. The shea butter I bought is unrefined which is good enough for me (no hexane). as far as I know the tree from which shea butter comes is wild so it can't be called organic.

As to the food, ask where it was grown. If it is backyard produce it may be better than organic ... or not, depending on what the individual tells you. Ciao.

  • Jacqueline S.

I agree. A great place but no organic produce, which seems odd.

    October 17, 2012

  • Susan Vegan N.

Great! I hope the Yellow Green Farmers Market will have organic produce. I have been three several times and NO ORGANIC produce at all. I was so disappointed. I hope I can make this meet up. :-)
