Thomas Wolfe Memorial Tour

Let's tour the Thomas Wolfe Memorial (52 N Market St, Asheville, NC 28801) on Wednesday, July 30th at 9:50 am. The group admission fee is $2.50 payable when we arrive - please try to bring exact change so we don't block up the check in process. We will start with the film at 10:00 sharp so please get to the museum by 9:50 am. The Thomas Wolfe Memorial will provide a tour guide to lead us through the house. Let's all meet at the entrance to the museum (NOT THE HOUSE) at 52 North Market Street. Please plan to be there by 9:50 for the group tour.

Folks may choose to eat lunch downtown - we can see who wants to join and where we want to go as a group or as small groups.

Be careful when you park downtown. Meters only last 2 hours but the city parking garages are affordable. Beware of the garages and lots that are not City or County. The ALOFT hotel is a city-operated parking garage as is the one across from the courthouse. One to avoid is near White Duck Taco and the Asheville Art Museum - it is very expensive, not run by city or county!

It is free and legal to park at the Asheville Visitors Center at 36 Montford Ave, Asheville, NC 28801. It's a nice walk to the Thomas Wolfe Memorial House if you're trying to get some steps. There is limited free on-street parking near the Asheville Yoga Studio.

If we have over 15 participants the tours of the house will be done in two groups but concurrently. They are ready for us! I hope to see some of you on Wednesday, July 30th at 9:50am!
