"Let's Go Rock Hounding" and have a Picnic

I'm recovering from covid again, so this is a tentative date and time. I'm looking for ideas on where we can go rock hounding within 30 minutes of Redding. We don't want to trespass, so if you know of a place, please let me know. Walking shoes, backpack, walking stick, a hat, water, and a picnic lunch.
