Fall Courses

COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS[masked] - Web Development I: Basic Web
Technologies
Introduction to Web Development with emphasis on web site
architecture, layout structure, template development, documentation
and form development. This course will focus on the development of a
basic template for a data driven web site. Style sheets will be used
to organize and present page content. Writing assignments, as
appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.


COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS[masked] - Web Development II: Client
Side Scripting
Continuation of the Web Development Series. This course integrates all
of the skills learned in 0181 and focuses on client side scripting to
verify data entry, manipulate and control web page elements, and store
information on the client machines using cookies. Methods for
initiating user authentication will also be covered. Writing
assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.


Spring Courses
COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS[masked] - Web Development III: Server
Side Programming
Continuation of the Web Development Series. Part Three integrates
skills learned in previous courses and presents dynamic web
programming using server side programming techniques such as PHP and
ASP. Course Fee: $30.00
Web Development II (CIS 182) or consent of department chair (CC).
2 lecture hours and 2 lab hours per week based on sixteen weeks. Credit Hours: 3

COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS[masked] - Web Development IV: Web
Database Integration
Continuation of the Web Development Series. Part Four integrates all
of the skills using basic mark-up, a scripting language and
server-side programming and focuses on the integration of databases
into a web site. Retrieval, storage, modification and presentation of
data from a database are all covered. Course Fee: $30.00
Web Development III (CIS 0281) or consent of department chair.
2 lecture hours and 4 lab hours per week based on sixteen weeks. Credit Hours: 4
