I am a tester / developer. I work as a tester, but have written some code. My largest project was the conversion of a WinRunner automation utility. This conversion was fairly straight forward but did involve some file parsing which got a little tricky. The automation ran config files for the FRUSDR utility that updates these components on Intel based servers. In the end, I reduced the 10,000 line WinRunner script to a mere 1,500 lines of C which ran twice as fast and had 2 bugs remaining. I wrote the documentation and updated the Project Road Map - I guess I was a 1.5 man development team with some support from the lead in the group. When I QA products it can be challenging not to expect too much from developers. Really I just expect the system to work as designed. I love being a part of the SQA process and had aspirations for this field since I was 13.
Hello, My name is Joseph Merritt and I have worked in SQA for approximately 5 years. Most of it has been with wireless systems. I love to meet new people and learn new technology.
I am looking forward to meeting more Testers at the meetings. I like to hear about peoples experiences in work and life. Being a part of a group like this is empowering.
