Interested in joining us in revising the world? I am a writing instructor who has not been able to finish a short story since my high school English teachers forbade me from writing SciFi. They said genre fiction was not real literature, and I would like to spend my summer proving them wrong (in good company). I am inspired by Ursula LeGuin’s political vision in The Dispossessed, sex reimagined in Octavia Butler’s Imago, and William Gibson's relentless style. My teenaged son is inspired by Interstellar and Avatar, and he wants to try his hand at hard SciFi. What inspires you? Do you have a pile of unfinished story beginnings? Ideas you'd like to manifest? Our group will be neurodiverse and welcome aspiring writers of all ages and experience levels.
