It's time to call to order another meeting of the Tequila Club. (Previous event here (http://www.meetup.com/The-Downtown-Crowd/events/153349372/), and previous discussion here (http://www.meetup.com/The-Downtown-Crowd/messages/boards/thread/39880172), which gives a little history behind the founding of "Tequila Club".)
February's meeting of the Tequila Club will provide a slightly more structured tasting. If you've ever wanted to branch out beyond Jose Cuervo, chain restaurant margueritas or that barely-remembered, best-forgotten college tequila night experience, now's your chance to expand your tequila horizons and add sophistication to your tequila palate.
Casa del Barco is working to have a brand representative available at the tasting. Featured tequilas will be from Leyenda del Milagro, representing each of three grades - Blanco (clear, not aged), Reposado (hint of color, slightly aged, more flavor), and Anejo (darkest, longest aged, most flavor). The bouquet and palate of each is described in more detail below, and this information will also be provided at the tasting.
The restaurant will be making room for a maximum of 50 people in our group, with seating at the bar, at the bar tables, at the small tables in the back (like last time), at least one large booth, and standing room. If interested in eating and/or obtaining a seat, get there early. No guaranteed seating for latecomers. There will be signs on the tables in our designated area.
The tasting itself will be from 6:30 to 8:30pm and complimentary. Tasters can also purchase a flight (a half-shot each) of all three Milagro tequilas for $10 (great price). And of course all other items on their food and beverage menus will be available.
Should be lots of fun. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
