• C38 Rapids Rino Charity Bike Ride and Soccer Game

    RiNoVELO Bicycle Workshop

Please Join Us For a Leisurely Bike Ride from RINO to DSGP... Oh and help raise money for the C38 Oar Foundation. A nice ride, a great tailgate, and an excellent cause. Oh, and the Rapids taking on NYCFC... Reserve your spot with a modest donation in the link above... Donation includes match ticket, beers, ride guide, micro tune up, pre- and post-party. Seriously, get in... We have set up a full service, guided bike ride from local bike shop, Rinovelo, located at 35th and Walnut to Dick's Sporting Goods Park. We will meet at Rinovelo at 3 pm for folks to mingle, get there bikes micro-tuned if needed, and have a bevvy (Please arrive as early as 2 pm if your bike needs maintenance to assure everyone's needs are met...). Then, at 4 pm, we'll depart on a guided ride to the stadium. The route is 90% bike path, so easy peasy. We'll stop at the Sunco Nature Overlook about 2/3rds the way to take a mild break and enjoy the view of the river, then plan on arriving at the tailgate around 5:15 After the match, we'll rally and ride back to Rinovelo for a fully supplied after party. Tickets will be distributed at RinoVelo, prior to the ride.... What's my donation include? Your donation includes a match ticket in 117, beers before, during, and after the ride, full service guided ride to and from the stadium, and a micro tune before the ride... What should I bring? A bike, although we may have a couple loaners, just email [masked] if you need one. First come, first serve. Bring a bike light and a bike lock too... Also, we encourage helmets. If you need any of these items, Rinovelo is a bike shop and will have some for sale, with a participant discount... Call (303)[masked] for any bike needs. What is a micro tune and a full service guide? A mirco tune is a quick check of wheel balance, topping off the air in the tires, checking brakes. a full service guide means we will have folks there to repair and flat tires or other little glitches that occur on the way. How long and how difficult is the ride? The ride will take about an hour at a leisurely pace. The majority of the route is flat and on a continuous bike path, about 90% of the ride. Really, this is a ride for all skill sets. Do I need a ticket to the game too? Nope, your donation includes a match ticket. • 8th Annual Great Sand Dunes DBC Trip w/ Sandboarding, Camping And Waterfalls

    Great Sand Dunes National Park

    $3.00

What: Camping, Sandboarding and Waterfalls. Why: Riding down a sand dune with a ramp is awesome! If it wasn't fun, we would not be on our 8th year doing this. If this is your first time coming out, everyone in this group will tell you that you should go! When: The event starts Friday evening June 29th, most of us leave Sunday late afternoon but you can leave whenever. Tentative schedule: Friday- Arrival and setup camp, Saturday - Morning breakfast at the dunes, ride the dunes, Sunday- Zapata falls Where: We will camp on BLM land. Look in the how to find us section. Depending on the road this year, you might still be able to get a car up to where we are, but there is plenty of space to leave it down the road and have us pick you up. We need 4x4's (not an all-wheel-drive Subaru) to help with transporting people/gear to the dune on Saturday. There are NO facilities at the camp spot, so if you are expecting a plush bed with a shower and a toilet, this is not the trip for you. This is a LEAVE NO TRACE - PACK-IN/PACK-OUT event. Fees: There is a charge to enter the park, so please bring cash to chip in for the entrance fee. No exceptions. The meetup fee is to help cover propane cost and help keep the group running. Things to do: There are bike trails, hiking, Zapata Falls, drinking, sand boarding, and of course camping. If you have a dirt bike bring that too, there are some awesome trails in the area. Sand Dunes Essentials: SNOWBOARD (remove the wax if you can, the sand does not harm the board), Snowboard boots (bring old ones, you will get sand in them), lots of water, Sunscreen, Firewood if allowed (This firewood will be used by the group for everyone, please buy this before coming out as this will save a ton of money rather than buying it at The Oasis.) Hiking boots (there are and will be small cacti that will prick you), flip flops, food to grill or whatever you want to eat, Grill (if you don't want to use the provided one), beer or other beverages, long sleeve sweater and/or pants (in case temps drop lower than your comfort zone) Cell Coverage: T-Mobile, AT&T and Cricket have been tested in this area to work fine but your carrier may vary. You should make sure you have the map saved before you turn off of highway 160. More info: Updates will be posted below if needed, and emailed out to members. Some of these details may change, make sure you keep an eye on the comments and download the app so that you can follow the comments. We will also have a few happy hour events before this trip to provide additional information.
