Wrath of the Orc Lord - 13th Age Organized Play

Wrath of the Orc Lord - 13th Age

&

Legacy of the Crystal Shard

In the 13th Age of the world, adventurers seek their fortunes in the Dragon Empire while powerful individuals known as Icons pursue goals that may preserve the empire from chaos, or send it over the edge.
One of these Icons, the fearsome Orc Lord, is facing a threat to his power. One of his agents, General Gul, has gone rogue and is attempting to kill the Orc Lord himself and take his place in the world. If General Gul goes unpunished it will encourage his other subordinates to rebel. Eventually the Orc Lord will lead his forces to victory, of course, but they will march at his command...not General Gul’s!
Now the Orc Lord has a job for you: head into the frozen lands of the Frost Range and cause problems for the renegade General Gul and her Red Flag Army, whether you like it or not. Put a stop to her traitorous plans, or the Orc Lord will be very...upset with you.
And the Orc Lord does not take "no" for an answer.
--- 13th Age is a combination of traditional RPGs and narrative-driven story games, designed by the lead designers of both 3rd and 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons. It is focused on fast play and player-driven content.
This adventure is the first part of the "Orc War Trilogy", and is designed for three to seven characters of 4th level. The season will run over 6 weeks with two- to three-hour sessions each week.
This season of 13th Age Organized Play is for three to seven characters of 4th level. Pregenerated characters will be provided, or you may bring your own. If you wish to make your own character, or get an idea of how the rules work, you can see the 13th Age System Reference Document at http://www.13thagesrd.com/. You only need to bring a normal set of dice; miniatures will be useful, but are not required.
If you have any questions on the system or how the season will operate, contact Sean Dunstan.
Hope to see you there!

I've updated next week's session with the information for the new adventure.

    A few things:
    * Everyone starts with 4 Icon relationship points, not 3. Positive points with the Elf Queen or Dwarf King would be helpful but aren't needed.
    * Everyone starts with one Adventurer-tier magic item of your choice.
    * Every player gets to create one NPC that you know upon your arrival to Summervale. This can be a friend, a rival, or a stranger you just happened to travel with, but everyone gets to come to the table with an NPC who may (or may not) become a recurring NPC.

    Hopefully everyone sees this:

I spoke to Pat after the game tonight, and he told me that he's still buying the D&D stuff for organized play. He also asked if it'd be possible for people to pay for use of the tables, since he's still supporting organized play and we haven't been paying for the table space since we stopped doing normal Encounters.

Personally, I'm okay with this; it's only $4 a week and Pat's been good to us. He's going to continue getting the Encounters stuff from WotC if people want to start running the modules again when the next season starts.

He also said that he got the Next book and adventure from WotC, so if you bring a USB stick next week he's willing to hook everyone up with the rules.

I have no objection. When I started playing it was under the assumption that there was a fee.

Shameless Kickstarter plug for those D4s I mentioned yesterday.

Table fee is fine with me, as the space he is providing is more convenient than trying to organize home games all over the state.

I have no problem paying a table fee. The guy is under no obligation to provide us space.
